This international day of giving, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is always an impressive day for nonprofit organizations.
In just a few short years, #GivingTuesday has gone from a random hashtag to the biggest day in philanthropy. Last year, an estimated $2.47 billion was donated just in the US alone during those 24 hours with almost 35 million people participating in some way.
Sometimes those huge numbers make small and mid-size nonprofits a little nervous. How do we compete? Will our messages and calls for support be heard in the millions of #GivingTuesday emails, social media posts, and YouTube videos?
