SOE-570: Social Entrepreneurship (3 credits): This course focuses on the emerging field of social entrepreneurship, a marriage between for-profit entrepreneurship skills and ventures that focus on nonprofit missions and social value. It offers practical information for individuals in the field as well as innovative methods of conceptualizing the search for new and better ways to support and invest in social value. The course presents a framework for understanding this new sector of the economy.
This is an online academic, graduate level class.

Who should take this class? Staff, board members and volunteers of nonprofit organizations, and consultants interested in getting a solid base for their career in the nonprofit sector, and learn how nonprofits are led by staff and boards.
This class may be taken independently, as part of Thomas Edison’s Graduate Certificate in Strategic Planning and Board Leadership for Nonprofits or the Masters of Public Service Leadership.
