What can you learn about timing from Pink?, by Nonprofit Consultant Zone

Have you heard of Pink? No, not the singer. Daniel Pink, the writer!

I am a Daniel Pink fan. If you haven’t heard of his work, Daniel Pink is a science writer, authoring books like Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates UsTo Sell is Human: The Surprising Truth About Moving Others, and others. I find his work very readable, solidly based, and practical.

Not long ago I heard this interview with him and all sorts of applications to nonprofit consulting came to mind.

Top among them was how we structure our days. He talks about our different kinds of productivity at different times of day, and how we can tailor our work to take advantage of this cycle. I’ve made observations about my own daily productivity cycle, but Pink explained it perfectly, and in a way I can use.

So when you can, listen to the interview. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

(Oh, and his new book? When: The Scientific Secrets of Perfect Timing. It’s on my list.)

They’re all listed below, in case you would like to read them for yourself.
