Political vs. Charitable
September 22 @ 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM CDT
How are political and charitable fundraising similar, and how are they different? A panel of leaders distinguished in both fundraising arenas will help us explore this question. Panelists include: The Hon. Charles Gonzalez, D- 20th U.S. Congressional District of Texas, 1999 to 2013, previously Bench of Texas’ 57th District Court from 1988 – 1997; The Hon. Kent Hance, D/R – 19th U.S. Congressional District of Texas, 1979 to 1985, previously Texas State Senate, Texas Railroad Commissioner, followed by Chancellor, Texas Tech University System, 2006 – 2014; Marv LeRoy, Clifton Town Supervisor, R-New York, 1992 to 2000, Founder, Institute for Philanthropic Excellence. Since 2015, he has quickly built a national network of more than 40 associates who have supported the success of more than 100 non-profits and is fast approaching the half-billion-dollar personal benchmark in funds raised; Barbara Radnofsky, Principal, Radnofsky Mediation Services, 2006 Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate from Texas, 2010 Democratic nominee for Texas Attorney, leadership roles in several non-profits including co-founder of the Houston chapter of the National Association of Urban Debate Leagues. Join our learning community as we dig in and compare and contrast discovery, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship in political and charitable fundraising.
